Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream-No Churn

Ice cream ingredients on a table.

Now that the weather is getting nicer out, it's time to break out those Ice cream recipes! My children love this recipe, and so do I. It's homemade, but it's still simple with only 3 ingredients and it doesn't require any churning, therefore you don't need an ice cream maker. Anyone can make this easy recipe at home!

Not to mention it tastes so much nicer than store bought ice cream because it is fresher, creamier, and luxurious with the vanilla bean. I argue it is more nutritious than most store bought premade ice creams because it has less ingredients in it and has fresh double cream, I mean, go read a tub at the store and compare it yourself!

Do yourself a favour and take the 10 minutes it takes to make this, then chuck it in your freezer and your whole family can enjoy this delicious and cold treat when it's warm outside. (I like to add a scoop to a chocolate mug cake too!)

This recipe is a great way to use up old vanilla bean pods from vanilla extract. I like to use up my old vanilla bean pods that have been soaking in rum for at least a year or more in this Ice Cream recipe.

Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream-No Churn

  • 395 g. can of sweetened condensed milk

  • 600 ml of double cream

  • 1 Vanilla Bean, split (you can use vanilla extract instead of a vanilla bean)

Directions

  1. Scrape the vanilla beans out of the split pod with a sharp knife (if using) or add vanilla extract to taste.

  2. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Beat for 3-4 minutes or until mixture forms soft peaks.

  4. Transfer to a 1 litre container and freeze overnight or for a good few hours (if you can't wait!)
